I know, I know this movie is so old it has liver spots and wrinkles already. I’ll spare you all a step by step review. But I only saw it for the first time last week. Why? Well, I had to wait for the DVD to come out. You see, me and the cinema, we’re not the best of friends. I’m a huge film fan, but I like to watch in my pajamas, with a cuppa in hand and a remote control close by so I can rewind, pause and up the volume whenever I like. Plus, cinemas these days are charging a whole kidney to get in and I just don’t have the organs to spare.

I digress. This post is merely a chance for me to fangirl for a few seconds! *Chris Hemsworth* *flails*

Five things about this movie that I loved:

1.)     Bring on the macabre. Roll out the emo-intensive carpet. Replace the batteries in your torch because this film is darkkkkkk.

2.)    Kristen Stewart is brilliant as the unbreakable princess. FYI, her British accent, better than mine!

3.)    Chris Hemsworth… nuff said!

4.)    Fairies, trolls, magical beasties that live in the forest and a whole host of fantastic British actors dressed up as dwarves. Ace!

5.)    Charlize Theron and the creepy co-dependent —bordering on incestual—  relationship she has with her brother (Sam Spruell). They just set fire to the screen.

That’s it. I’m done… almost…
