First of all ladies and gents, I’m sorry it’s been forever since I’ve posted on here. I’ve been working my butt off with one thing and another. One thing being a Uni assignment on poetry. Urgh, you guys, I suck so bad at poetry it’s not even funny.
I might have also been busy reading through a publishing contract and signing my name on the dotted line.
My YA urban fantasy, IN STONE, has found a home at Entranced Publishing.
At the end of last month I was lucky enough to get a couple of requests on the #pitmad event organised by the absolutely fabulous Brenda Drake!!!
This was my Twitter pitch:
Dark YA: A Girl & a Gargoyle must fight for survival & take a dip in the murky depths of the Underworld to stop an immortal invasion #PitMad
After reading my first fifty pages, executive editor at Entranced, Ashley Christman, requested the full MS and the rest as they say is history. FYI, Brenda Drake runs heaps of competitions for unagented/unpublished writers all year round. If you have a completed MS and are looking to get an agent/publisher, I highly recommend you head on over to her blog and check out what’s up next. I hear the March Pitch Madness event is off the scale awesome.
I’m so excited for you guys to read In Stone (2013)…you will be reading In Stone, right? I jest, now is not the time to try and flog my book, but that time will come…you have been warned 😉
*Note* I just made my journey to being published look like a walk in the park. It wasn’t. It was more like a walk over broken glass without shoes on for a good twelve months, but we’ll talk about that some other time.
