Hey guys,

How are we all doing? Good, I hope.

Today I am blogging to you in freezing temperatures. It’s the first day in three that the sun is absent and the sky is grey. Alas, my kitten is learning to go outside so I have to keep my front door open at all times.

Anyway, that’s not my news…

If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen that the amazing Mandy Hubbard has sold my debut YA Contemp, Rose Tainted Skies and Other Lies, to the amazing Anne Hoppe at HMH/Clarion for publication in the fall 2016.

Here’s the official PM blurb:

Debut author Louise Gornall’s ROSE TAINTED SKIES AND OTHER LIES, in which a girl struggles to overcome agoraphobia and OCD, until a charming boy moves in next door and forces her to confront the life she’s avoided living, to Anne Hoppe at Clarion Books by Mandy Hubbard at D4EO Literary Agency (North American). Translation: Taryn Fagerness Agency

You guys…

I’m just so…

I can’t even…

I feel so very lucky to have had my Twitter writing fam, pushing me up this mountain known as Publishing from day one. Very lucky indeed.

This story was a hard one to write. Endless thanks to Mandy, Dawn Ius, my twin sister, Rach, and a couple of amazing friends who continuously gave me the support and pep talks I needed to persevere and get this damn thing down on paper.

I’m hoping over the coming months I’ll be able to tell you a little bit about the inspiration behind Rose Tainted Skies and Other Lies, and why it was important for me to tell teens a story about mental health.

I really hope you guys enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it…

Chat later XO

  1. All the feels, with and for you! I’m so glad your story found its just-right home, with Mandy of D4EO and then Anne at Clarion. Can’t wait to read your book!
